Libertus is a flexible and adaptable charity; we work in collaboration with other organisations to ensure our frontline activities are more efficiently delivered. We consider any collaboration with careful planning, to ensure it is the right option.
When we involve another organisation, we consider the
following:
• Member needs: We enter a collaboration to
enhance benefits for our members. They are at the heart of everything we do, thus our decision-making will always bear them in mind first, through open and honest communication.
• Board involvement: Our board have an overview of all our different ventures and projects; they also have the ultimate responsibility for the vision and drive of the project. We report and present any new potential work to the board to ensure it fits into our ethos as an organisation.
• Open Communication: we have project development and communication plans in place to ensure we uphold GDPR while tracking project progression with relevant KPI’s
• Management: If we are hosting or seconding staff, we agree a clear management responsibility, location, and reporting structure to ensure clarity of allocation of staff tasks.
• Mutual benefit: We ensure we manage our resources efficiently. We form collaborations that will be of mutual benefit to both organisations. Organisations and their members benefit from long lasting advantages from the collaboration with each other, and relationships are more likely to be maintained longer term.
• Clear expectations: When we enter an agreement, we have clarity about what we can and cannot do, in terms of tasks and expectations. Libertus has a collaboration agreement procedure to ensure we adhere only to joint ideas that are of member interest, benefit, and are achievable.
• Funding: when compiling a new funding plan with a key partner, we identify possibilities and responsibilities for this in advance.
• Evaluation: We always commit to thorough evaluation of projects to build on our positives and identify any areas for improvement.
